| District realignment is done and most of the appeals are settled so the question is.....How will your team fair in their new district come 2008? I am in the new 6-4A district so I poked around the net and gathered some stats. Here goes with my opinion: 2007 season in order of strength: *Aledo 12-3 * N. Richland Hills Birdville 9-2 * Saginaw 8-3 * Springtown 4-7 (this was a playoff year for them) Ft. Worth Boswell 3-5 White Settlement Brewer 1-9 Mineral Wells 1-9 Azle 0-10 (winless in '07) * I think the top four on the list will be your top four in playoffs with Boswell and Springtown duking it out for the fourth spot. Looking at all the enrollment figures I think that no matter what Birdville goes Division I in playoffs. If springtown wins they go DII and Saginaw goes DI. If Boswell wins they go DI and Saginaw goes DII. Aledo goes Division II no matter what. Getting further ahead of myself and going into playoff possibilities....Our first round playoff competition will more than likely be Division I: Denton Ryan and Wichita Falls Rider. Division II: Lake Dallas and Wichita Falls Old High. So? What about your districts?? | |

Hey du52, What district are you in? I thought most appeals had been decided! I had heard that the UIL received 8 appeals; 3 over district assignment and 5 over conference assignment and that four were granted. From what I know those that won their appeal were Houston Stratford High School, Dripping Springs High School, Hereford High School and San Marcos High School. The Assignment Appeals Committee had vetoed the appeal of Laredo Cigarroa, Laredo Johnson, Laredo Nixon and San Antonio Highlands. Are there still more appeals being filed?? I thought there was a deadline.

| 10-3A will be tough for the bottom feeders:
North Lamar (playoff team in 4A) Paris (Very good athletes competed in a tough 4A district) Commerce (Athletic 3A) Bonham Van Alstyne Anna

| I know North L.got beat by lake Dallas the year before. Them and Paris should control this district. N.L. and Paris were pretty good 4A Teams and Anna faught to win 1 or 2 in 2A last year. This is going to be a interesting wakeup call. | |

| Pearland lost in the second round of the playoffs this year to Galena Park North Shore! North Shore, in turn, went undefeated until the semi-finals where they lost to powerhouse Converse Judson! Pearland could have just as easily been the ones to go deeper into playoffs having only lost to North Shore by 4 points! I do believe you are correct in stating that Pearland will go toe-to-toe with the likes of La Porte and Deer Park. It will be an interesting run to the playoffs in this district. | |
